This Sunday, November 6 is time to set our clocks back! Good thing we’re ‘gaining’ an hour because it gives us more early morning daylight to enjoy all the budget-friendly fun happening around Atlanta activities, November 3-9. Get out and vote early so that on Election Day, Tuesday Nov. 8, you can enjoy the last Toddler Trek event of the year at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center. If you’re already in the Christmas spirit, check out Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at the Center for the Puppetry Arts. And continuing an Atlanta holiday tradition for more than 50 years, the Macy’s Pink Pig is now up and running at Lennox Square.

Toddler Thursdays at the High

The High has expanded the hours of its signature early-learning program. The new, refreshed Toddler Thursday program features new toddler tours to engage and educate young children ages 15 months to 4 years old. Books with Pups at Milton Library

Come and read to a therapy dog and build confidence and fluency in reading aloud to a friendly pup. Each child will sign up for a 15 minute slot to read to a dog, one on one. Home Depot Kids Workshop

Build a Veteran’s Day Toy Helicopter at your local Home Depot! Show up anytime, but allow at least an hour for your project. In addition to the newly constructed project, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, a certificate, and an achievement pin. Nov. 5 – Join in this hands-on workshop in honor of Veterans Day, and you and your child can build a toy helicopter with turning blades! Once the toy helicopter is built, your child can decorate it with paint & stickers to create a mini-military vehicle. Registration is not required, but encouraged. Recommended for children ages 5-12. The iconic Pink Pig train has been a beloved Atlanta holiday tradition for more than 50 years! Priscilla the Pink Pig will once again carry children of all ages through a life-sized storybook filled with friends and fun beneath the signature 170-foot, 1950’s themed Pink Pig Tent.

MONDAY
Toddler Time @ Georgia Aquarium

One adult/child pair: $16 ($8 per person) – Non-Member; $13 ($6.50 per person) – Member
Bring little ones on a fun and educational adventure in the Oceans Ballroom with views of beluga whales or whale sharks and manta rays. Children get to meet and learn about an approachable animal, enjoy a costumed character appearance, story time, craft activities and a small snack. Each month features a different animal encounter and theme. Cost does not include admission to the Aquarium. TUESDAY
Busy Little Squirrels Toddler Trek
November 8, 10:30-11:30AM at Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center, 2020 Clean Water Dr., Buford
$10 for non-members; $8 for EHC members
Designed for toddlers ages 18-36 months, this interactive outdoor program gives little ones an opportunity to spend some time enjoying and experiencing nature. Children will learn the names of local animals and plants and sing songs. Each session includes a short discovery walk so dress according to the weather. You may also bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds at the conclusion of the program. Only one adult per child. Pre-registration required. Click here for more info or to register.

Turtle Tours @ Heritage Sandy Springs Museum

Museum Mascots Sandy the Chipmunk and Spring the Turtle help young visitors learn history. Toddlers enjoy story time, crafts and hands-on exhibits designed especially for the preschool crowd and includes tours for toddlers ages 2-5 and their parents.
