There is so much budget-friendly fun to enjoy all around metro Atlanta November 17-23! Allow your little ones to let their creative juices flow at Toddler Thursdays at the High Museum (and enjoy the new lower admission price)! We’re heading into the most wonderful time of the year, so if you’re looking for a little Christmas spirit, head to the Northside Library for a free showing of the Polar Express. Not to miss this week– the 69th annual great Macy’s Christmas tree lighting at at Lennox Square on Sunday!

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Music for the Very Young will showcase a special series called Meet Our Families: An Introduction to the Instruments of the Orchestra. Children learn all about members of the Woodwind, Brass, String, and Percussion families throughout the season in four separate programs – each highlighting one specific family of instruments. Then, at the end of the season, these same musicians will join forces to offer performances together as an ensemble…or one big family. This week, Meet the Brass!

69th Annual Great Tree Lighting Ceremony at Macy’s Lenox Square

It’s Macy’s 69th Annual Great Tree Lighting ceremony with special performances and a visit from Santa! Be sure to visit the Aflac tent and purchase the 2016 Aflac Holiday Duck. 100% of the net proceeds benefit children’s cancer hospitals across the country.

The Thirsty Roots Reading Group is a free reading club designed for children ages 2-7 to learn about the natural environment through nature-themed book readings and projects. On Your Mark, Get Set, Read! Storytime at East Atlanta Library

Tuesday’s storytime is geared for toddlers ages 3 and under. Storytime is in the meeting room. Afterwards, visit the children’s section of the library, where you can cuddle on a cushioned window seat with your toddler and a big pile of board books or get creative with the crayons and free coloring sheets available. There’s plenty of parking in the library lot or on the street.
