On Saturday, be sure to dress up your little ones and head to Little 5 Points for the annual Halloween festival and parade, one of the largest in the country! Little Shop of Stories and the German Exchange Program at Decatur High School present the annual Root Beer Festival with an Oktoberfest twist! In addition to the great soda sampling, there will be bratwurst, Bavarian pretzels and other goodies for purchase, and music, games and lots of fun! All proceeds will benefit On The Same Page, Little Shop’s community-wide reading initiative, and the DHS German Exchange Program. Star gazing at Red Top Mountain Park

This is my OTP pick of the week. Drive about 30 minutes north of the city for the chance gaze at the night sky and learn all about the stars you’ll see.
