My Stroller Boot Camp Journey

Stroller Boot Camp

Stroller Boot Camp

This month I had the pleasure of attending the West Cobb Stroller Boot Camp with Alison of Living Room Workout Club. Before I began I took before photos and did my measurements to see what kind of progress I could make by attending Boot Camp 2-3 days per week. I did alter my diet some by adding in protein shakes and lower fat/carb meals. Beginning this program I took into account that I am 6 weeks postpartum and had not worked out in a while (A LONG WHILE) but I joined determined to do my best! Now these photos are hard for me to share but my making my progress public I am more motivated than ever!

Each week I attended 2 workouts, one week I attended a third session on Fridays. After the workouts I felt a little sore and winded but not overextended. Which is a nice feeling at 9:30am when I have to take care of two kids all day. Speaking of two kids, since I had to keep track of them both I decided to bring my double stroller which was a lot more of a workout than I initially expected! Most of the moms had jogging strollers which I suggest investing in if you do not have one already. The workout is mainly on concrete so my stroller is alright but I would rather use a jogging stroller. By the end of the month I have only missed one session due to my son being sick. I feel amazing, energized, and renewed! I am excited to keep following this journey and even attend some of the Floating Fridays Boot Camp sessions.

Alison is a very sweet woman, during the sessions she is encouraging and upbeat which makes the workout go more quickly! After my last session I sat down with Alison to discuss why she began Stroller Boot Camp. Alison started her company because she loved the idea of a fun workout and connecting with other new moms. “I was a stay at home mom for one year, looking around for mom related fitness classes, a year later I became a certified trainer and started stroller boot camp as my first session with just 3 people!” Alison has grown her classes from 3 moms to sometimes 20 moms. One mom, the longest attending mother, drives all the way from Canton to Kennesaw two to three days a week. If you are interested in joining her at the Kennesaw Parks & Rec you can do so here, those sessions are twice a week and one of the best workouts you can do! Also Alison is starting an in home workout program including family yoga, fitness, and possibly a babywearing boot camp!
