Real Meal Delivery: Dinner Made Easy

1

I’ve been eyeing these meal delivery services now for years y’all! Whenever i find a new friend who uses one I go right into picking their brain. Is it affordable? Are they reliable? Is the food top quality and safe? Well, i bit the bullet and tried Real Meal Delivery, and boy do I have a lot to say!

Big surprise right? Ha!

***Real talk for a second:This is a spondsred post by Real Meal Delivery, but all opinions are my own (or my two toddlers) and represent my experience. What mom doesn’t want to try out a service that delivers hot, ready to eat meals to your door step at dinner time? Sign me up! They are also giving away free $50 gift cards and free meals for a year, enter to win those here!***

So here’s what sold me to even give them a try, and where i think everyone else has failed!

1. They use locally sourced produce (yay, local!), USDA Choice Certified Beef, USDA Grade A Pork, Sustainable Seafood, no artificial sweeteners and no salt added. All items are created from scratch and your food is never frozen. That alone sold this mom! But there’s more!

2. Their kitchen is local, inspected and certified by the GA Department of Health and maintains a 100% score. Do you even know what the latest score was on that Chinese restaurant you order from but have never seen the inside of? Didn’t think so!

3. I was nervous about it being kept at safe temperatures too, but the warm items are stored in temperature controlled heating boxes and cold items in coolers so your food is always maintained within acceptable temperature ranges for food safety. All my crazy over protective mom boxes are being checked off! YES!

They also have a great filter for food requests like vegetarian, gluten-free, milk free and nut free. Since my son is allergic to tree nuts and dairy (and about 5 other things, Lord help me), this came in super handy for us when picking our dishes. I was able to pick for my husband, daughter and I, then turn on the filters to pick for my son. Only allergy moms can appreciate being able to serve your kid safe food while also getting to splurge for yourself and the rest of the family a little on some cream and butter in a dish. We all eat based off his allergies at home and when meal planning so i don’t have to cook separate meals, but this takes that extra step out of it for me!

They even have a section for kids with healthy choices like steamed broccoli and grilled chicken, and of course, mac n cheese! That makes for one happy toddler…and husband! macaroni-cheese

They list all ingredients and clearly label meals for dietary restrictions, so you always know exactly what you’re getting, which is more than you ever get at a typical restaurant or delivery menu!

I was shocked that a typical family of 4 can eat for $28 or less! That’s nearly 50% less than what we spend when we go out!

Did you notice the prices? Waaaaaay cheaper than eating out with this family of 4! I splurged with this order obviously, picking grass-fed steak and desserts that ordinarily wouldn’t be on our week night menu, but I am shocked that a typical family of 4 can eat for $28 or less! That’s nearly 50% less than what we spend when we go out!

Being a stay at home mom, I cook most nights and I work hard to make healthy choices for my family. We typically order in food once a week to give me a night off from cooking and cleaning dishes, but how much greasy pizza and chinese food can one family take? Delivery options for families these days really are lacking for those of us trying to keep it healthy. Not any more! I love that this is now an option for us.

So, what did we think? Here’s the breakdown.

Mom’s favorites are the Asiago creamed spinach and the double cut rosemary pork chop all the way! Hands down those were my two favorites, super flavorful, not salty or dry and cooked perfectly! The pork chop has this nice little gravy with it and what a compliment of flavors! I will be ordering that again!

peanut-butter-chocolate-cheesecakeDads favorites are macaroni and cheese and the peanut butter cup cheesecake! My hubs has a major sweet tooth and he could not stop raving about that cheesecake. When i asked for a taste he gave me glare, haha! Safe to say he also devoured the chicken and some steak too, but the gushing over cheesecake could not be topped.

macaroni-cheeseThe kids favorites are mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and fruit salad! I loved that it was melonless since my littlest is allergic to melons, it was super fresh and a great little side for toddlers. There is no salt added to the sides, which makes me super happy since that’s how i cook as well, so we are used to a less salty flavor.

You can even order late in the day after forgetting to thaw out your meat (i swear i do this at least once a week) as long as it’s before 4pm, for delivery that same night! If you don’t believe me, just check out Real Meal Delivery on Instagram or Twitter for #RealMealRealGood and you can see all the other food delivery converts!

Now that you’re all hyped up and ready to try it, I have even better news for you! They are running a giveaway for free dinner for a year! YES! 4 entrees, sides and dessert for a family of 4 once every month for 12 months!

But wait, there is more! One of YOU will win a $50 gift card to order your own meal and give it a try, click here!!
