MAMC Atlanta Activities, March 2-8

Lots of low-cost, cerebral fun abounds around Atlanta this week, March 2-8. The Children’s Museum will make learning fun on March 7 for Home School Day. Likewise, on Monday, March 6 the Georgia Aquarium hosts its monthly Toddler Time program that features a light snack, craft activity, story time, a live animal encounter AND a view of the beautiful Beluga whales.

If you have or know a little one on the Autism Spectrum or with a sensory processing disorder, you should check out Sensory Friendly Saturday at the Children’s Museum on March 4th. Its a very special day for our special little ones to enjoy the museum in peace.

Home School Fridays @ Booth Western Art Museum

Students age 7 – 12 years of age join instructor Mersia Martin in exploring a variety of mediums and techniques in these classes for home school students. Sensory Friendly Saturday @ the Children’s Museum of Atlanta

The first Saturday of every month, families with kids with sensory disorders are invited to enjoy the Children’s Museum. The Museum will open at 9 AM for families with children on the autism spectrum or children with sensory processing disorders. Sensory Friendly Saturdays include a sensory modified setting, limited admission and sound and lighting adjustments.

Full Circle Farm Sanctuary Tour

Quite a bit OTP, but well worth the drive if your little one loves animals! Come tour our beautiful new sanctuary located here in lovely Warm Springs, GA! Meet a variety of rescued resident animals including cows, pigs, chickens, emus, goats, sheep, ducks, geese, llamas, alpacas, rabbits, guinea fowl, turkeys, dogs and cats. Taste some delicious vegan food samples and browse our selection of merchandise. Tour begins at 2:30 PM sharp and lasts until 5:30 PM so please be at our front gate by 2:15 PM. In extreme weather, such as overwhelming heat, threatening thunderstorms or ice/snow, tour may be canceled, tour time may be adjusted, and the duration of tour may be shortened. Toddler Time @ Georgia Aquarium

Take a ‘dip’ into Georgia Aquarium with your toddler, without the time or cost commitment of our General Admission ticket. Bring your little one on a fun and educational adventure in Georgia Aquarium’s Oceans Ballroom with views of beluga whales or whale sharks and manta rays. During each 1.5 hour experience, children will meet and learn about an approachable animal during a special introduction to marine life, enjoy a costumed character appearance, story time, craft activities and a small snack. Home School Days are designed for the unique educational needs of home school students who will spend an afternoon enjoying facilitated activities and workshops.
