Holiday Baking Season

0

It is that time of year! Holiday Baking Season. Let the gorging commence! Sweet treats and delights with fun flavors and designs fill plates and bellys everywhere this week. Cookies galore! Chocolate, gingerbread, peppermint, peanut butter…yummmmmm!

Wipe that drool off your face and let’s get to baking!

I give baked goods to family and friends for the holidays each year instead of buying tons of knick knacks (junk) people truly don’t need. It’s always a hit, i mean who doesn’t like baked goods? Ugly scarf or fresh baked cookies? Another bottle of overly scented greasy lotion or frosted cranberry cookies? No question here.

This is a list of all the fun holiday baking I am planning this week. Yeah, I am a little ambitious but I love baking for the holidays! It’s a great activity for the kids to help with and the house smells glorious all day. Not to mention you get to butter up that annoying neighbor who grates your nerves all year in hopes of a few weeks of peace. Well, one can hope right? On to the cookies!

Frosted Cranberry Cookies

These look so wintery, especially with the sugared cranberries! I love a little tart with sweet, it’s a nice spin on typical cookies and that pretty red and white just screams CHRISTMAS! The kids will love those cranberries, its like a raisin on steroids. Only pretty. And delicious. So…the exact opposite of a raisin actually.

Candied Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies

I made these last year and they were the first of the cookies to disappear. I know a few friends will be excited to see them again this year for sure. Men especially will flock to these. I don’t know what it is about bacon that draws out the drooling men, but this cookie will do it every time.

Christmas Tree Meringues

I made these last year too and I love how light and airy meringue cookies are. And so simple too. It looks like something you spent hours perfecting, but its absolutely not! This is a good one to take to a cookie exchange, people will ooooh and ahhhh over them and beg you for that secret recipe. Pat yourself on the back for this one, its a show stopper.

Lump of Coal Cookies

For those on your naughty list! (remember that annoying neighbor? yeah, these go to him!) This is always a great chuckle and a fun hostess gift too if you’re heading to a few little get togethers. You can print out the labels or write on the jar, either way they taste delicious.

Red Velvet Banana Bread

It is kinda healthy, there are bananas. So it’s a fruit. (The lies we tell ourselves to avoid the guilt…ha!) This is seriously decadent and perfect with a cup of coffee. Bake these ahead and take them with you Christmas day/eve to relatives and friends houses.

Drunk Santa Fudge

For all the adults at the party. This after dinner treat goes great with a cocktail or 5. Just don’t forget to call Uber, let them do the driving. Enjoy responsibly my friends!
